Job Description

Role Title: Swimming Teacher – Qualified 
Contract and Hours: Permanent Part Time and Bank Staff between 4.5 to 20 hours per week 
Salary: £21250.43 to £22813.48 per year pro rata / £10.60 to £11.50 per hour (dependant on experience) with potential to earn more dependent on your working pattern
Benefits: 29 days (rising to 34 days after 5 years) pro rata, plus 6.5 public holidays, pension fund, staff discounts, annual leave purchase scheme, annual Scottish Swimming Membership and CPD’s 
Location: With 12 venues across the city our teams support each location with everyone having a primary venue which is discussed at interview 

We are looking to recruit qualified Swimming Teachers to come join our in-demand programme within Scotland’s largest city! Glasgow Life delivers one of the most extensive leisure operations within the UK, which is now resuming activity following the pandemic. We care deeply about supporting children and young people in learning this important life skill and our Swimming Teachers are the key in enabling them to achieve this. 

People of all ages are eager to learn to swim, it’s a great way to exercise, have fun and open the doorway to seeing the world in a completely different way, especially as people start to travel around the world on holiday again.  Our Swimming Teachers are critical in allowing us to create and develop safe swimmers across the city who can go on to take this skill with them from Spain or to Scotstoun!

-    Enthusiasm to deliver exceptional service to our Learn to Swim customers. 
-    Passionate about teaching children and young people a valuable life skill.
-    Creating a comfortable and fun learning environment for children, young people and adults who enrol onto any of our swim programmes covering from 3 years to adult.  

What do you need to be considered for our role of Swimming Teacher?
-    Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ), or equivalent UKCC Level 1, or Level 2 Teaching Aquatics Qualification.
-    A passion and competence in swimming.
-    An ability to motivate and engage swimmers to achieve the best from lessons.
-    PVG Scheme Membership
