You will assist with the planning/management of roads development control activities and the provision of advice to stakeholders throughout these processes. A good understanding of both Planning and Road Construction Consent processes are desirable. You will also assist in the development of the Roads Asset Management service and will be required to deputise for the Road Asset Group Managers as required. You must possess good communication skills, IT skills, an awareness of CDM Regulations and a track record of working together with colleagues and partners, internal and external to the Council, to give excellent customer service. You will be a key member of a team that will plan, monitor, supervise and administrate drainage and roads maintenance works throughout the city and assist in the management/development of the city’s roads infrastructure and new developments.
You will also ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, the Scottish Road Works Register, the Winter Maintenance Plan, the Code of Practice for Well Maintained Highways and manage works programmes. The ability to lead, develop and motivate a team of technical staff, inspectors and modern apprentices is essential.
A Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or other technical discipline, relevant operational experience and a current driving licence are essential.
