Job Description

Duties include the collection, loading /unloading and transportation of ejection trailers from specified locations to agreed treatment facilities and carrying out vehicle maintenance checks together with the completion of the associated paperwork. If no driving duties are available, you will be required to undertake manual labouring duties or the operation of heavy plant & LGV vehicles within the disposal section. You must have previous experience of driving articulated/rigid vehicles, have a good understanding of the Highway Code/Traffic Regulations, vehicle maintenance, loading techniques and manual handling. Good communication skills, basic numeracy/literacy skills, a flexible approach to working hours/changing situations and a good approach to dealing with the public are essential. You must also be able to meet deadlines and work as part of a team or on your own initiative. Previous experience of driving LGV vehicles within the waste industry is desirable.

A LGV driving licence Category C&E together with a valid Driver's Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC card) is essential. ** Please note that appointments will be subject to medical checks in respect of fitness to drive.

35 hours plus 2 hours non standard working per week, Monday - Friday, plus 7.5 hours per week contractual overtime
