Job Description
The Plant Mechanic will carry out the service, repair and maintenance of all grass cutting, gritting equipment and mechanical plant for Glasgow City Council to the highest standard that will comply with both Health & Safety and all warranty claims submitted.
The post holder could attend breakdowns and be subject to lone working, or on a standby rota if required by the service. GCC Plant Fleet will be moving to Greener Technology and the post holder will be required to under-go continuous personal development to keep up with these technologies.
An Apprentice Certification in
Plant machinery, vehicle trade, Horticultur al Engineer, C&G, Scotvec or equivalent level and a current driving licence are essential. Plant Construction – Horticultural Engineer –Vehicle trade qualification and experience and dealership experience would be advantageous desirable.
