We are seeking to recruit to Residential Worker posts both day shift and night shift and temporary posts and permanent posts within our residential childrens units across the city. We are also recruiting to posts within our Peripatetic Team. This team provide short term cover and respond to crisis situations to units across the city. Applications are welcome from individuals who have a commitment to providing a quality service to children and families. Experience in services to children and experience of working/looking after children is essential. Applicants must evidence: good communication skills both verbal and written; good understanding of care planning process; good engagement skills with young people, families and other professionals; a demonstrated commitment to safeguards for children in residential care and Children’s Rights. Applicants must also be flexible and motivated to achieving best outcomes for young people. Shift rota work including weekends. The essential qualification criteria is as follows:- possession of an HNC in Social Care and working towards SVQIII OR possession of an SVQIII and currently working towards HNC in Social Care training. SSSC registration is essential within 6 months of commencing in the post.
There are Permanent and Temporary post available. Tempory posts are initially for 13 weeks. Theses posts are various hours per week - day and night shifts available.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
