Job Description

We invite applications for an opportunity within Glasgow City Council's Customer Contact Centre (CCC), presently based at 40 John Street Glasgow. The hours of work are 35 hours per week, there is a need for the postholder to be flexible as the Contact Centre operates 24/7 and there may be a need to deliver training outside of core hours. The CCC handles a large volume of incoming telephone enquiries for Glasgow City Council and the Glasgow family. The role of the Training Officer is required to Design, Build and Deliver training across all of the CCC areas, This will include all aspects of induction, new hire, project and upskill training, from conception to delivery.

The training role is vital to the effective operation of the CCC and requires a high degree of flexibility, tenacity and the managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The Training Officer is also required to use their initiative to review the effectiveness of their training and in ensuring that all training documentation remains current and version controlled.

In addition to this, you will be required to ensure that you are supporting the front line staff and highlighting any challenges that may be impacting performance or the overall effectiveness of the training and to escalate these to the appropriate management level alongside proposed solutions to mitigate any risk to the council.

The successful candidate should be able to work under pressure and will have an excellent analytical skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office packages, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to react and to and influence the operation requirements to ensure we continue to meet the need of the customers.
