Job Description
In 2023, Glasgow and locations across Scotland are hosting the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships, bringing together 13 world championships into one.
Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS) will support Glasgow Life with the delivery of the sport competition, events and additional programmes in the city on behalf of Cycling World Championships and is expanding its team to deliver the world’s biggest ever cycling event. NRS will be responsible for delivering the traffic and transport plan to support the multiple venues and road events across the city.
You will work as part of the traffic and transport event delivery team within NRS. The successful candidates will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the operational transport plans for all championships venues and road events. Reporting to the Assistant Group Manager you will work in a multi-agency environment ensuring all stakeholders are considered and requirements delivered in the planning and delivery.
You must demonstrate experience of planning and delivering a traffic and transport plan at a major event and experience of working in a C3 coordination role and possess good communication and IT skills, be able to assess technical problems and provide effective solutions. Working as part of the team you must be able to manage your workload under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline is essential along with experience of working in a roads / traffic related environment.
