Salary placing will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Job Purpose: To be part of an exciting, newly established Trades Team working together to deliver an efficient and responsive service. The post holder will undertake a wide range of joinery tasks including repairs, refurbishments and upgrades to a range of Council properties and residential housing.

Additional Information: The Highland Council is bringing together Building Maintenance and Property Services in a bid to reduce the reliance on external contractors. This is an opportunity where trades people can build upon their existing skill set. The team will be responsible for carrying out both housing and non-housing repairs and maintenance processes to a select area of the Council portfolio.

  • Experience in all aspects of joinery work, and joinery qualification or evidence of having completed or undertaking joinery training (eg – 4th Year apprentice).

  • A driving license is essential and you will be expected to travel efficiently between various work locations in the area to meet the operational needs of the service.
  • Participation in an out of hour’s emergency service on a rota basis is a requirement of the post. Stand-by payment and enhanced hourly rates apply.
