Training can be given to qualified Speech and Language Therapists if the candidate doesn’t have the experience required

Job  Purpose: The post holder will take a lead role in assessment and associated support to children with speech/ language/ communication/ neurodevelopmental differences/ impairment working as part of a muti agency team. This will be carried out in schools and pre-school facilities, client’s own homes, out-patient clinics, and via telehealth in accordance with national, Highland Council, and NHS Highland policies and guidelines. They will participate in service development, provide support and training to other professionals, and supervise the work of students. 

Training and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate as required. 

This post sits within Highland Council but has NHS terms and conditions. Part time and a different base location within Highland may be considered..

Requirements

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
  • Licence to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist as issued by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
  • HCPC registration
  • 2 years’ experience of working with working with children and young people who have speech, language and communication needs and additional support needs, including experience of neuro developmental assessment 
  • Means to travel efficiently and effectively between various locations within Highland to meet the operation requirements of the service.
