Working as part of Midlothian Councils Dynamic Street lighting department you will attend Edinburgh College on a block release basis to attain a SVQ 3 in electrical installation furthermore to this you will be supported to obtain various vocational qualifications to support working at height and the use of tools and machinery. The successful applicant will also be supported to obtain their C class driving licence.
Applicants should have a head for heights, prepared to work outside in all weather conditions and be prepared to apply themselves to this diverse role. The post will see you learn about street Lighting, Traffic signals, sports pitch lighting, Xmas lighting and EV charging plus any other relevant duties
3 Standard Grades including English, Mathematics and a science (preferably physics)
Willingness to Undertake the Apprentice Electricians Career Grade Scheme
Experienced in computing
Planning and Organisational abilities
General knowledge of Electrical Engineering
SECTT Pre-Employment Assessment
Experience of dealing with members of the public.
Experience in report writing.
Clean driving license

Based on you working 39 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £19,841.45 per annum.
