As part of the Care Experienced Children and Young People’s Funding from the Scottish Government, an amazing opportunity has arisen to support some of our Children and Young People who may be struggling with their attendance and attainment at school.
We are looking for 1 dynamic, forward thinking and solution focus Children’s Services Practitioners to be part of the wider team in addressing these issues of non-attendance at school, in particular the below 50% attendance.
You must be educated to HNC social care and SVQ Level 3 (children and young people) or equivalent with a relevant discipline, or be working towards the required qualifications for registration with the SSSC, with previous experience of working with young people in a residential setting and a commitment to continued professional development.
You will have sound knowledge base in relation to working with children and young people, attachment promoting, trauma based therapy, etc.
Travelling is integral to this role and you will be required to travel across Midlothian either using public transport, or your own car if appropriate, as required.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £27,200.39 per annum.
