We are recruiting a Fires Safety Advisor to join the newly formed Health, Safety & Resilience Team in Protective Services. This is key role ensuring compliance across the organisation for fire safety, working with all Directorates providing advice, guidance and technical expertise.
KNOWLEDGE:
It is essential that the Jobholder is a corporate member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) and in addition s/he must hold a fire risk assessment qualification allowing access to the IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors and Auditors.
Basic keyboarding skills and understanding of Microsoft database, spreadsheet and word processing applications are also essential, as is a broad experience of Fire Safety at a professional level, including the provision of advice on the technology of fire and practical working knowledge of fire risk assessments. The jobholder must also be competent in written report writing; able to communicate effectively at all levels; and have experience of working independently to achieve targets.
Experience of training the public or non-professionals in fire risk assessment and the use of CAD and computer packages to progress own workload is desirable. A period of time would be required once in post to establish contacts and operating protocols.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £34,056.84 per annum.
