Based at Stobhill Depot, you will undertake work in public parks, playing fields, domestic gardens, landscaped areas and similar open spaces within the Midlothian area.
With minimal supervision, you will apply a full range of horticultural and/or arboricultural skills to the duties of the post. These include the maintenance of fine and sports turf, interpretation of plans, landscaping and setting out of pitches.
Some experience within a horticultural/greenkeeping environment is desirable. Also a weedkilling certificate and experience of operating mini diggers and dumper is desirable. A driving licence and tractor work experience are essential.
Experience within a horticultural / greenkeeping environment
Full U.K.driving licence.
2 years or more tractor driving experience. Operation of powered equipment connected to horticulture.
SVQ level 2 in Horticulture / Greenkeeping
Certificate of competence hand held applicator PA1 & PA6A and PA2
Certificate of competence in tractor operation
Mini Digger certificate
Stone Cutter Certificate
Operation of Radio Detective Equipment
Certificate of competence to operate ride on and pedestrian machinery
