Job Description

ICT Communications Officer

Starting salary £30,235

 We are looking for a customer focused individual to join our busy team to assist with the development and support of the Council’s internal and external digital communications platforms.

The role will require you to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gain their insights for the creation of content and strategies for the council. You will need to have an eye for developing compelling, creative content and understand how crucial it is to have an eye for detail.

Ideally you will have graduated with a degree in communications and have experience of creating content for digital communications platforms.  Practical experience of designing, securing and publishing web content, as well as using analytics to measure and report on performance would be an advantage, together with an understanding of web site accessibility and data privacy standards.

 

Requirements

  1. Assist with strategy and planning initiatives with respect to the council’s digital communications platforms. 
  2. Lead on the development of content for the council’s digital communications platforms. 
  3. Provide advice and guidance to council services that depend on interactive content. 
  4. Undertake stakeholder engagement activities. 
  5. Review performance and provide general support for digital communications platforms.

 

The Individual

Demonstrable and practical experience of delivering transformational change, ideally using digital technologies
Knowledge of digital marketing
Experience of working with customers and gathering views to influence services
Relevant Degree in communications, marketing or other relevant discipline
Proven ability to be responsive, creative and innovative in work setting
Excellent writing skills
Proven ability to work under minimal supervision.
Self confidence and self motivated
Strong knowledge of Digital Marketing, mainly in creation of content
Excellent understanding of digital communications platforms and maximising customers’ online journeys
Digitally literate and capable of effectively engaging with technical staff, managers and the public
Ability to produce clear and non-technical information on complex issues
Ability to work as a member of a team
Can relate well to a range of audiences in relaxed and engaging manner
Effective communication and influencing skills
Ability to deal with and resolve conflicting issues and interests
Be confident in engaging with technical staff and managers alike
Proven ability to plan and manage workload to ensure results are delivered and deadlines met.
Ability to focus on agreed objectives, to ensure they are achieved within agreed timescales.
Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting deadlines
Ability to work in a shared office
Ability to work in different offices depending upon service requirements
