Job Description

To assist the manager in the co-ordination of packages of support for individuals living in supported houses.

 

Responsibilities

To assist the manager in the day to day running of the supported house to ensure a quality package of support for the individual living in the house.

To ensure the provison and implementation of needs led support plans for individuals living in the service and act as the keyworker.

To facilitate community engagaement abnd integration within the locality.

To provide day to day support and supervison for all staff within the support service.

To ensure that the service users live in and access an appropriate and stimulating environment. To devise and implement rotas as required.

 

The Individual

Experience of working with people with learning disabilities in a community seting. Experience of supervising and or/supporting staff. Experience of working with people who present challenging behaviour

Educated to standard level or equivalent HNC Social Care SVQ Level III Evidence of continuing professional development e.g. Autism Awareness, First Aid

Budgeting skills. Ability to perform household skills to an acceptable standard. Self confident and self motivated

Flexible and adaptable Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team. Confident approach to challenging situations

Ability to acknowledge and implement professional advice. A positive and supportive attitude to service users. Knowledge of the SSSC Codes of Practice and evidence of understanding/application in relevant work setting. Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

Ability to actively listen. Able to understand and communicate clearly using the English language. Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision. Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to confidentiality

Ability to carry out duties that involve a significant amount of moving and handling in accordance with moving and handling regulations Ability to support service users with physical activiites e.g swimming
