Job Description

The job involves receiving, processing, seeking approvaland monitoring of permits for Road Occupations, applications for road closures and temporary traffic signals, roadworks notices and the co-ordination of the Scottish Road Works Register and the Roadworks management system.

 

Requirements

Processing permit application for Road Occupations {Skips, Scaffolds, Cranes and Builder Materials).
Processing temporary Traffic Orders (Road Closures).
Co-ordinating Symology Street Works Management System.
Assisting Traffic Engineers with Traffic Matters.
Complying with current quality systems and technical advice notes.
Complying with statutory procedures and all aspects of health and safety work.
Liaising with Area Roads Asset Inspectors.

 

The Individual

Significant proven experience of role requiring attention to detail in the processing of information

Significant administrative experience

*Four SQA standard grades (or equivalent) at level 3 or above including Maths, English and science or technical subjects

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Excel

Experience of AUTOCAD, GIS or other drafting systems

Ability to work on own initiative, to a strict timetable to meet deadlines and make recommendations to Management

Effective organisational skills including time management

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work

Self-confident and self-motivated

Strong customer care skills and focus

Analytical and mathematical skills

Flexibility and adaptability

Willingness to accept discretion/delegation

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various locations within and beyond Moray. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van

Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with a wide range of contacts

Ability to establish, maintain and develop positive working relationships and contribute as part of a team

Willingness to accept direction/delegation

Professional approach in all areas

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service

Ability to work in a shared office

Ability to work in different offices depending on the needs of the service
