We are embarking on the next phase of our ambitious transformation programme, maximising opportunities and addressing the challenges which lie ahead of us. 

We want to hear from a talented individual with strong leadership skills who has the vision and skills to become the Head of Service for Inclusion and Educational Support.  The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Head of Service (Education) and support the Executive Director and the Chief Executive to deliver the Council’s ambitions for North Ayrshire. 

As a Chief Officer of the Council, the successful candidate will have a strategic leadership role supporting service transformation and delivering high quality, value for money services in a challenging financial climate. Tackling poverty is at heart of everything we do. 

You will demonstrate extensive experience at a senior management level and have the ability to create inspiring and innovative solutions.

The post has a challenging and exciting remit across the service, with particular responsibility for a variety of areas such as Inclusion, Supporting Needs, Psychological Services, Education's role in Integrated Children's Services Planning and Facilities Management. As a strategic and inspirational leader, you will deliver a clear sense of purpose and direction and will secure the confidence of Elected Members, the Council and your Teams.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in the implementation of change, excellent people management skills, effective partnership working, integrity and sound ethical judgement.

Dates to note and keep available are:  

  • 1.5 hours will be required between 1st and 6th March 2023 to complete online Psychometrics.
  • Assessment Centre day will take place in person on Thursday 7th March 2023 (full day).
  • Interviews will take place in person on Wednesday 15th March 2023.
