Do you currently work or have experience with Web Security and Firewall Management Solutions? Have you had exposure to Cloud and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) technologies? The Council has an exciting opportunity for someone to demonstrate their skills in this area and assist with the Council’s digital transformation programme.
As a hybrid worker, you will be based form home with a secondary base in the Civic Centre offices in Motherwell. As an integral part of the Secure Access Team in Infrastructure Services, this role involves the design, development, maintenance and support of a network security Infrastructure which supports the delivery of Council services and protects its informational assets.
With an SVQ4, HND or equivalent in an ICT related subject and a background in ICT, you should have good knowledge in some of the following areas: Web Filtering, Firewall Management, IPS/IDS, VPN, ZTNA and Cloud architecture. Exposure to Cyber Security incidents management alongside understanding of a Security Operation Centre function is essential for this post. Training and qualifications in other related best practice subjects such as Prince2, ITIL, management and leadership will be advantageous.
As a developing IT Professional you will be able to demonstrate technical analytical and problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and organised, be able to work to targets and react appropriately and quickly to challenges. Good oral and written communication skills are also essential.
In summary, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to move into a team with a technically challenging workload and projects lined up to help the council realise its Digital and Cloud First ambitions.
