You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team within Road Maintenance, who currently operate an agile model of home-working and you will be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for the effective and efficient provision of a road works control service. You will undertake the daily operation of the Scottish Road Works Register, issuing notices, coordinating works and monitoring compliance with regulations.  You will assist with the preparation and collation of relevant information and in income generation. You will support by issuing road works instructions and ensuring all duties and responsibilities are fulfilled in terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

With an HNC, or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline, you will have experience of working in a relevant environment and knowledge of both roads and health & safety legislation. You will have experience of providing administration to a high standard and in dealing with enquiries from the public and other organisations.

To be a success in this role you will be innovative, solutions focused, influential and have the ability to assess and react to changing priorities.  You will be able to adapt to new technologies that help to improve service delivery and the customer experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality services to our citizens and communities and you will promote the Council’s vision, values and reputation.

You will be self-motivated with a flexible and collaborative approach to work and have the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands whilst meeting tight deadlines.  

With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, and be a clear written and verbal communicator, with the ability to analyse information and clearly communicate with customers, contractors and other stakeholders.
