NLC7 £27,465 – £30,271
£528.16 per week based on a 37 hour working week (with an additional £39.61 per week for those working the weekend pattern)
As a Streetscene Chargehand you will be working throughout the North Lanarkshire area. You will drive and be responsible for assisting the Streetscene Supervisor in overseeing the performance of Streetscene services. To be a success you will require experience in a wide range of streetscene related tasks including grass cutting, shrub pruning and street cleansing including operating the associated machinery. You will ensure employees carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner, that work is completed in line with the work schedule and to a high standard, through day to day route maintenance, effectively deploy resources and complete associated administrative tasks.
You must be able to undertake physical duties and be capable of understanding verbal and written instructions. You must also be able to carry out the associated administrative duties attached to this post. In addition, you must have moderate experience of supervising staff, working within a team and knowledge of Land Management and street cleaning operations is also required.
You must be educated to standard grade, or SVQ1 level, or equivalent, or have internal/external training with certificates of competence and extended on-the-job experience. You must also have a driving licence (Categories B & E). You will be able to deal with enquiries and complaints from members of the public. You will be subject to Hand Arm Vibration and Audiometric Testing
Predominantly based in either Wardpark Depot, Cumbernauld Bellshill Depot, however you must be able to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council.
Available working patterns:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
OR
- Rotating pattern of Week 1: Monday to Thursday, Week 2: Tuesday to Friday
All shifts 7.15am to 5:00pm, 37 hours per week
