We are seeking a Social History Curator to be responsible for the implementation of an agreed programme of research, care and interpretation of the Social History Collections of North Lanarkshire. You will be working within the Curatorial and Exhibitions team to help deliver high quality exhibitions and manage our nationally significant collections. Working at the heart of the local community, you will ensure the museum collections are made accessible to the people of North Lanarkshire.
Based at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, you should have a professional qualification in museum/heritage studies along with demonstrable relevant work experience in the sector. You will have a good working knowledge of museum documentation and collection management systems and have experience in researching and interpreting museum collections.
A high degree of computer literacy is essential and understanding of current practices in museum collections management and care. You must have good communication skills, be able to work to tight deadlines and cope with the demands of simultaneous projects.
You must be able to travel and work in different locations throughout North Lanarkshire.
Work Pattern - 21 hours per week over 3 days.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
