NLC3 £17,670 - £18,708 pro rata

Based at primarily at Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell in this predominantly customer facing role, you will assist in the provision of a reception, administration and booking service. 

Representing the Council you will require excellent customer service skills and previous reception experience would be advantageous.  

You should be educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent and it would be desirable if you have an NC/SVQ2 qualification in a relevant subject such as office administration.  You will have moderate office experience and an understanding of general office procedures to include filing and data handling systems. It is desirable that you have a working knowledge of booking systems and previous experience of operating a cash register and of cash reconciliation.

You will possess good keyboard skills and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include word, excel and databases.  The post will involve dealing with members of the public therefore you should have good customer care skills; good organisational skills, be able to solve problems and work on your own initiative. 

Whilst you will work predominantly in Strathclyde Country Park you may be asked on occasion to work from our other Country parks; Drumpellier and Palacerigg Country Park and therefore the ability to travel across North Lanarkshire is required.

Knowledge of local government computer systems is desirable such as PECOS.

This post will involve participation in a shift rota to include weekend working for which the appropriate allowances will be paid.

Working Pattern:
Week 1:  Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8.45am to 4.45pm
Week 2:  Thursday, Friday, 8.45am to 4.45pm

Please note, from 1st April 2019 all new employees to North Lanarkshire Council will be paid on a 4-weekly basis.
