We have vacancies for two Economic Development Officers who will enable the Economic Development team to progress its activities in the areas of business support, key sector development, project implementation and research into new development opportunities which will make a significant contribution to the economic development activities of the Council.

If you relish the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community then this role could be the opportunity you have been waiting for. We are also offering these posts with a development option and so if you have all the required experience and are ready to hit the ground running then great, but if you need to further develop skills and experience in some areas then this job could still be for you.

The successful applicant will be placed on the salary range according to relevant qualifications and experience.

The Orkney economy continues to face considerable challenges and the Council plays a vital role in the development of value-adding activities that support the various offers of products and services from its key business sectors. Enabling development and growth of the diverse business base in Orkney and working in partnership with other public agencies to support sustainable economic growth are core to the role.
