Finance Assistant, Payments

35 hours per week
Temporary for up to 12 months
£20,332 - £21,408 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited for the full time vacancy for the post of Finance Assistant (Payments) within the Finance Service – Payments Section for a temporary period of up to 12 months.

The postholder will work within a small team supporting the functions of the Payments Section. The postholder shall assist with the financial administration and collection of sundry debt. This shall involve processing financial information within the Sales ledger, assisting with debt recovery procedures, and financial monitoring and reconciliation procedures. You will be required to work as an effective team member and deal with queries both from individuals and businesses.

We are looking for someone who is educated to SVQ level 2 or equivalent level in a relevant subject or, where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a finance or administrative role.

You should have good numerical, communication and organisational skills and have experience of working with computerised office systems.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
