Planning Policy Support Officer

35 hours per week
Temporary up to 31 December 2020
£21,086 - £22,820 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic individual to provide technical support to the Development and Marine Planning function, which deals primarily with the production and review of the Local Development Plan and associated guidance. Your main duties will include issuing consultations, scanning and logging responses, undertaking research and public engagement and managing the Development Planning database.

You will be an experienced IT user and should be familiar with all Microsoft Office packages.

You should hold a qualification to the level HNC or SVQ level 3 in English, Geography, Information Technology or similar related subject or where essential qualification is not held a minimum of 2 years’ experience of technical and electronic document handling issues and computer literacy.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
