With the retirement of the current post holder, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Catering Manager to join the Council to lead the Schools Catering Service.
We are looking for someone who has a very good background in catering and nutrition and who understands the key role that an excellent school meals service provides in looking after our children here in Orkney. You will also have experience in managing staff, ideally across different locations, be confident at budget management and understand the importance of strong leadership, especially when our teams are split across a number of different locations, including islands other than the mainland of Orkney.
You should hold a HND or equivalent level qualification in Hospitality /Catering management, have an advanced level qualification in Hygiene and HACCP and hold a Health and Safety Training Certificate or have equivalent experience.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
Although the post is based in Kirkwall, You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
