The Council's Environment Service is committed to promoting a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive economy by balancing new development with the need to protect and enhance Perth and Kinross’s world class built and natural environment. This will be achieved in a manner that provides an open, customer focussed service, while achieving a high level of performance. You will work as part of a busy team of highly motivated and professional staff and will primarily be responsible for all aspects of Building Standards including: the assessment of building warrants; the inspection of construction activity; and the inspection and actioning enforcement in the event of dangerous and defective buildings, in liaison with their Team Leader.

Candidates must have a degree in a relevant building or surveying related subject, together with relevant experience to meet the role profile, ideally within a local authority building standards environment. Candidates must hold full membership of a relevant professional body i.e. R.I.C.S. or A.B.E. and must also have a commitment to public service.

A valid UK driving licence is essential and access to transport when required is desirable.
