You will provide the first point of contact to the Council for customers via a variety of channels (phone, email, online and face to face) making use of a number of different systems. Information and advice is given on a wide range of Council services including, but not restricted to, Waste and Recycling, Council Tax, Scottish Welfare Fund and Social Work. Where required you will assist customers with applications for services or be able to signpost customers to other organisations. We provide a face to face, telephone, email, online and webchat service to customers.

We are looking for a customer focused individual who has experience in a customer service environment, someone who can work well as part of a team, be flexible in their approach to work and be able to react positively to change or new ways of working to allow us to meet customer needs. Good communication skills are key to this role. It would be beneficial to have experience of dealing with customer complaints, showing an ability to deal with difficult conversations and deal sensitively with situations. You should be able to demonstrate that you have experience of working in a fast paced, high volume environment handling contacts from multiple channel types. Ideally you will have knowledge of Perth and Kinross Council's services and it would be beneficial that you have knowledge and experience of a variety of computer systems, including Microsoft packages. These skills are not essential as full training will be provided so you must be willing to learn and enjoy absorbing new information quickly. As a number of services are now moving online, you must have the ability to use web pages for information searches and online transactions. It is not essential but would be a benefit if you can evidence any Customer Service related qualifications that you hold.
