Social Care Officer, Parkdale (PKC06030)
£13,301 - £14,978 (24 hours/week)
Parkdale Care Home, New School Lane, Auchterarder, PH3 1QN

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer within Parkdale Care Home, a service for older people providing permanent and respite care. As a Social Care Officer you will have the opportunity to put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. Promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment. Duties will also include assisting with daily activities, providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as needed. You will be required to administer medication, assist with developing support plans and carry out reviews to achieve desired outcomes. We operate a 12 hour shift pattern and on a 6 week rota pattern which includes 2 weeks of nightshift. The post includes a shift allowance.

We require a truly caring person who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their families of those in their care. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy going that extra mile and who are friendly and enthusiastic about caring for others and can lead by example. A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and appreciate the needs, wishes and aspirations of older people and how best to support them and their carer's in the care home setting. You will be required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home service, therefore an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
