Perth & Kinross Council aims to provide the residents of Perth & Kinross area with a reliable refuse collection service.

As a Recycling Centre Lead hand you will provide an invaluable service to the residents of the Perth & Kinross area, ensuring that they are able to recycle household waste in a safe, helpful and friendly environment. 

Your role will require you to assist visitors to segregate waste correctly to assist with the recycling targets required by the service. You will be required to comply with the safe systems of work for Waste Disposal.  

This role operates on a shift pattern and the contracted shift pattern for this post is Sunday to  Tuesday week one, Sunday to Wednesday week two (33hrs).  

You will also be expected to be available to work on a standby basis, which will include working outside of your normal hours and being part of an overtime rota. Works covered on standby and overtime, are usually planned in advance but may also be unforeseeable and therefore, you may be required to be available to work at short notice.  

This is an opportunity for you to provide a vital service to the community by ensuring that all waste is disposed of within the current legislation. You will have contact with members of the public and will act as a representative of the Council.

The Individual

You will bring a positive energy; have the ability to lead and work well as part of a small team. You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation, you will have effective visual skills with the ability to ensure the safety of Site users and other staff members that have cause to visit the site
