Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley

The Development Officer will assist the Billing, Collection & Systems Admin Manager in ensuring that relevant Customer and Business Services functions are optimised and operate efficiently whilst ensuring adherence to legislation, targets and council objectives.

The team performs a critical role in the billing and collection of revenue streams and in the provision of financial support including Housing Benefit, Discretionary Housing Payments and the Scottish Welfare Fund. The team is committed to constant improvement and as such it is essential that you have experience in working with software suppliers and IT to achieve system enhancements. You must have a track record in delivering effective change.

You will be required to create accurate and innovative solutions to meet highly complex performance monitoring requirements, utilising system reporting tools and other software packages. To deliver these solutions you will be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and in working with large volumes of data from a variety of sources.

The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Council Tax; Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction; Scottish Welfare Fund; Non Domestic Rates.
