Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.
Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Payroll Services team and planning the cyclical activities for the financial year ahead.
It is essential that you have relevant experience of operating a large multi payroll system. Ability to ensure all payrun checks and balances are undertaken, including payroll reconciliations, ledger queries and squaring. Previously taken responsibility for Periodic and year end returns to statutory bodies such as HMRC, SPF and SPPA. Ability to implement HR and other relevant policies such as supporting attendance, recruitment and selection, employee development, health, welfare and safety, etc.
In addition, you must have effective numeracy and IT skills with the ability to communicate effectively dealing with enquiries from managers, supervisors, employees and a range of agencies; have a level of accuracy in your work; be able to work to tight deadlines and work as part of a team.
It is desirable that you have experience of operating a multi payroll system; using Business World, the Council’s payroll system or similar system and understand the roles and responsibilities within a busy integrated payroll and personnel team.
