An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our Economy and Development Team in the role of Principal Estates Surveyor.
Supporting our Regeneration and Place Manager who has the overall lead for Estates, this role will suit an organised individual with excellent estates management skills and a sound knowledge and genuine interest in driving wider Placeshaping and Economic Development objectives within an asset management linked Placeshaping approach.
This is an ideal time to join Renfrewshire Council – Our Right for Renfrewshire change programme has been an important element of our approach to transformation and longer-term financial sustainability, and we are now focusing the work of our Estates Team at the centre of our Economy and Development agenda. The postholder will identify opportunities, liaise with key partners and stakeholders at a senior level and develop innovative approaches, pilots and projects to fully maximize the potential of our asset base.
Educated to degree level in Estates Management, Land Economics or equivalent, it is essential that you have experience in local government or a similar diverse organisation and a proven record of achievement in managing a diverse and complex property portfolio, project management, strategic planning in local government or in a relevant sales, acquisitions, and lettings/property evaluation background. You must also be able to analyse and present complex information, prepare detailed briefings on required topics and have excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
It is desirable that you are a Registered Valuer
