A vacancy has arisen in the Online School Payments and Cashless Catering project team for a Project Assistant. The post is based in Renfrewshire House but, with a requirement for frequent visits to schools across the whole of Renfrewshire.The Online School Payments and Cashless Catering Project is a key component of Renfrewshire Council’s Customer Experience and Digital work stream. The project is rolling out a suite of systems to schools across Renfrewshire to improve catering services and facilitate the removal of physical cash from all our education establishments. These systems include: the ParentPay online payments system; the Pebble school office account management system; the CyPad catering management system for primary schools & nurseries; and, the Civica/NRS catering management system for secondary schools. The project team has so far successfully rolled out these tools to over a third of Renfrewshire schools, with the remainder due to receive these systems and go live before the end of 2020. The project has been well received by staff and parents alike and is realising significant benefit to the schools who are using it already.

The Project Assistant is a key role within our small project team. You will assist the Project Manager and Project Lead in a wide range of project delivery tasks including liaising with stakeholders such as school staff and contractors, collect and collate information required to track project performance, review and develop business processes, manage and support delivery of staff training, provide on-site support during and after the ‘go live’ process and provide a point-of-contact for schools seeking solutions to any problems encountered during use of the systems.You will be experienced in working effectively as part of a team, preferably having recent experience of implementing new systems. You will be experienced and knowledgeable in the operation of school offices, particularly in processes relating to cash handling and school fund operations. You will have effective organisational, literacy/numeracy and time management skills. You will have an ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. You will have effective customer service, instructional and skills development abilities. You must be committed to organisational and service delivery improvement and have an ability to listen to all stakeholders, taking cognisance of all viewpoints. You must be able to work independently and prioritise your own workload. This is a full-time 35 hour-per-week fixed-term position at the GRF grade that will run until 31 December 2020 with a salary scale of £21,845.25- £23,889.25.
