Job Description

Renfrewshire HSCP provides a range of community health and adult social work services to the population within the area defined by the local authority boundary of Renfrewshire Council (approximately 175,000). We have 29 GP practices, 35 general dental practitioners, 44 community pharmacists and 19 community optometrists.

The post reports to the Planning and Performance Manager and will play a key role in developing, co-ordinating and leading a range of strategic planning and performance activities which support the continuous improvement of the HSCP. The post-holder will work within a service team which provides strategic support to Senior Managers and Heads of Service. The post will support the development of corporate, community and service level plans, and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of these plans. For example service improvement plans, business plans and strategies such as the HSCP Strategic Plan and Unscheduled Care Commissioning Plan.

The post will work with services to ensure that the research, analysis, evaluation and benchmarking needs of the HSCP are met and that opportunities are identified to improve and develop services through enhanced business intelligence.

Your key tasks include: preparing relevant policy board reports and briefings; co-ordinating corporate and service level activities in areas such as complaints, public performance reporting, equalities, and service specific activities; co-ordinating and contributing to the production of accurate and timely management information relating to service activity which enables effective performance management and strategic decision making at service, Senior Management Team and Council/NHSGGC level.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in business administration, project management or similar discipline and can demonstrate a similar level of knowledge gained through a significant period of work preferably in the Health and Social Care sector. You should demonstrate an ability to use project management techniques and processes and have specialist knowledge of web-based content management systems. You will have experience in the use of database management and reporting, using analytical skills and have knowledge of and competent in the use of Microsoft Office. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure, making decisions and dealing with numerous concurrent tasks of varying timescales. You should be an effective with the ability to provide effective, credible communications. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday.
