Renfrewshire Council is seeking two Senior Procurement Specialists to join our award winning procurement team. You will support the delivery of strategic objectives and add value to one of the best and highest performing local authority procurement teams in Scotland.Delivering social value through procurement is one of our core objectives and through use of Community Benefits and the promotion of Fair Work Practices, you will help to achieve our aim to grow our local economy, provide employment and training opportunities and improve opportunities for children and young people in our communities.

It is essential that you are educated to HND level or equivalent in a relevant subject or have/are working towards MCIPS. Additionally, you must have experience of managing, developing and reporting complex projects; the ability to develop and implement contract strategies; experience of negotiating and awarding contracts in accordance with procurement policy, procedures and strategy; and experience of developing and implementing appropriate supplier relationship and development strategies.You must have a clear understanding of public sector procurement governance and be able to deliver projects within the specified timelines as set out in the project schedule and maintain procurement performance to support the scheduled completion date.
It is desirable that you have an appropriate knowledge of relevant markets, products and services; are able to identify changes and developments in the market place and their potential impact on the Council; and have an understanding of EU Procurement Law.
