You will be working within a well-established Adult Community Mental Health Team providing a Social Work Service to the clients supporting hospital discharge and working in community settings to help keep individuals safe and well and support their carers.
An ability to build up effective professional relationships with other agencies is essential. You will be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as on your own, taking on board the views and opinions of other professionals which would inform any assessment of clients referred to the team and be able to demonstrate a non-discriminatory approach at all levels and a genuine and an empathic approach towards the needs of clients and their families. You will also be committed to social work services values within Renfrewshire HSCP.
It is also essential you are highly motivated, flexible and possess effective interpersonal skills as well as be able to prioritise work, demonstrate effective assessment and communication skills, both verbally and written and can use IT packages. You must have experience of working with individuals who have mental health issues across different community settings.
Also, it is desirable that you hold a SVQ3 in Social Care, or equivalent qualification or the ability to work towards it and can demonstrate an enthusiasm and willingness to work in this challenging area and have flexibility regarding working in a variety of locations and possible evening work. You must be highly motivated and committed to social work values.
Full training and support will be given to support continuous professional development, service delivery, maintaining standards, and quality assurance.
The service has a flexible approach to how people work and welcomes staff who are prepared to work flexibly across the Renfrewshire HSCP, as necessary.

1x Post is part time, 17.5 hours per week and the annual salary for working this is £12,464 - £13,605.
