Digital Champions Coordinator, Hybrid, 35 hours p/w, Fixed Term 2 years, £27,685.22 p.a

OneRen is a vibrant and ambitious culture and leisure charitable company that delivers services and experiences across Renfrewshire. Originally established in 2003 to manage and deliver sport and leisure services in 9 venues on behalf of Renfrewshire Council, in 2015 the charity was expanded to include the delivery of cultural facilities and services, increasing our asset base to 64 venues and over 20 outdoor recreation sites.

Our vision is to improve the health, well-being and quality of life of local communities through accessible arts and culture, leisure and sporting opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of activities and services that meet the needs of our diverse audience groups. As well as supporting the economic regeneration and civic renewal of Renfrewshire, we are developing a cultural portfolio intended to raise the profile of Renfrewshire as a national and international cultural and tourism destination.

Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing a safe space where minds are nourished, and individuals valued. This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Renfrewshire Libraries team and make a difference to people in Renfrewshire. The Digital Champions Network project aims to bring together libraries and other public and third sector organisations to provide digital skills support to digitally excluded individuals and groups in Renfrewshire. The post of Digital Champions Coordinator is a new post and is integral to the success of this project.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual who is dedicated to the promotion of digital inclusion for all, and who can build a Digital Champions Network for Renfrewshire. You will recruit and train volunteers to become “Digital Champions” and work with them to deliver digital skills support sessions within Renfrewshire’s public libraries. You will build digital capacity across Renfrewshire by delivering training for Digital Champions within other public and third sector organisations. You will create a mutually supportive network of partner organisations where learning is shared and signposting solutions and referral pathways for those experiencing digital exclusion are developed.

You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work well in an environment of cooperation and partnership working. You will understand the causes and impacts of digital exclusion and have experience of delivering training in basic digital skills. You will have experience of recruiting, managing and supporting volunteers. You will be confident with technology and be able to make technology fun.

The post is funded by Renfrewshire Council for two years. Working hours are 35 hours per week, with flexibility on working times and with a mix of working from home, within libraries and within the community.
