Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen within business support working within Social Work located in Hawick. The post will line manage the Business Support function and ensure that both Social Care and Health and Children and Families Teams has efficient and effective business support in place. As a line manager you would help to lead staff through a period of change as we introduce transformation through Fitfor2024 as well as ensuring the daily activities are delivered.

Your key duties would include but are not limited to the following: Line management of approximately 6 staff. Ensuring relevant statutory meetings and panels are organised and recorded appropriately. Payments to relevant parties are made in a timely manner. Problem solving and signposting. Ensuring processes and procedures are in place for your team members to follow and you actively monitor that these are being followed.

Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.

HNC/D in a related discipline, or other relevant qualification OR equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills necessary to undertake the role.
