Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role  you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.

Role Purpose

• In consultation with the Quality Improvement Officer provide strategic leadership, direction, and professional advice to the team of Early Years Improvement Team in raising standards and achievement in attainment, inclusion and equality in line with local and national priorities. 

• To support the Quality Improvement Officer to provide a high quality service that meets the needs of local communities by supporting and challenging schools /settings in the development and implementation of the highest quality learning. 

• To work with senior managers and other colleagues in schools and early learning settings to ensure that the Council satisfies HMIE criteria on performance monitoring and continuous improvement and other statutory obligations.

• To provide support for education service management by having operational responsibility for the early years teacher team with particular regard to improving outcomes for early level children.  

• A strategic area of the Education Services will be attached to each Improvement & Support Officer role. The area for responsibility will be informed by the key drivers within the National Improvement Framework.

Qualification in primary education.
