Role Purpose

A permanent full-time opportunity has arisen within in the Council's Roads Planning section for an enthusiastic person to assist in the assessment of development affecting the public road network across a defined geographical area of the Scottish Borders. This will include the assessment of proposals submitted through the planning process and the consideration and determination of applications for Road Construction Consent. You will also provide advice and guidance on these subject areas.

You should hold an HNC, HND or SVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject and be capable of working with minimum supervision. This post would be ideal for candidates with recent post-qualification experience, although applications will also be welcomed from recent graduates.

The post may involve assessment of development anywhere within the Scottish Borders area, and so a driving licence and regular access to a vehicle will therefore be essential.

Essential

• HNC/HND/SVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
• Proven record of relevant CPD training.
