Scottish Borders Council are looking for a leader who has the vision, drive and resilience needed to build on our successes as you shape our services to meet the needs of children, young people and their families. You will have the attributes to lead our dedicated and highly skilled staff and to sustain excellent relationships with our partners in statutory agencies, the voluntary sector and with leaders across the education and business community that dovetails with the government’s skills agenda and pathways to employment.

Supporting and inspiring children and young people to raise their aspirations and reach their potential is one of the Council's core priorities as is keeping children and young people safe and ensuring that they are living in a settled and nurturing home environment. You will need to be creative and innovative in taking our work forward, in tackling the challenges facing all local authorities, and in leading the preparation and delivery ofthe Children and Young People’s Strategic “Fit for 2024” Plan.

You will be an exceptional leader with the energy and rigor to represent Scottish Borders Council effectively at the most senior levels,combining a record of successful strategic leadership and sustainable performance improvement.
