Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Scottish Borders Council  for an experienced and enthusiastic Trading Standards Officer to join our Trading Standards and Animal Health team.  This is a new permanent post to complement our existing team.  Scottish Borders lies midway between Edinburgh and Newcastle with excellent transport links and beautiful rural countryside ideal for outdoor pursuits.

Applicants should possess either a Diploma in Trading Standards, Diploma in Consumer Affairs & Trading Standards or equivalent which must include the Weights and Measures module.  Applicants nearing completion of the full Trading Standards qualification will be considered for the post.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out functions across the full remit of Trading Standards work.





Diploma in Trading Standards or DCATS or CTSP qualification with the Weights and Measure module.

*A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
