Games Hall attendants are responsible through the Leisure Facilities Officer to enable all users to make full and safe use of the sports facilities and equipment at the games halls at Sandwick Junior High School, Scalloway Junior High School and occasionally the Gilbertson Park Games Hall.

With minimal direct supervision Games Hall Attendants are required to ensure that a high quality, customer focused service is delivered to all users of these venues.

The facilities are open seven days a week where lone working and on occasion additional hours will be required in this post.

Additional Information

  • The grade of this post is E
  • Rate of pay shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.2415 per hour (pro rata) 
  • This post is proposed to be on an annualised hours contract of 384hrs per year for 32 weeks  from January to the end of March, and from mid August to December each year.  The hours of work would be for 5 hours on Monday, 5 hours on a Tuesday and 4 hours every second Sunday over the above periods. 
  • Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update 
  • A relocation package does not apply to this post
  • We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland 
  • We are happy to talk flexible working
