Job Description

What is the role?

All craft employees will have a trade/skill or competence suitable for the work for which they are employed. Employees will assist in taking jobs from inception to completion based on integrated and self-directed work practices. The particular responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of duties entailed.  The post holder may therefore be required to perform duties appropriate to the post other than those detailed in the job outline.  It is also noted in exercising the duties of this post, the post holder shall comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and any other relevant legislation and policies of the Council.

The Grade of this post is Grade 2 / Level 6, the hourly rate is from £12.68 to £13.86 and the annual salary is from £24,463 to £26,740.

Please note the post holder will work 37 hours per week:

Monday - 8.00am to 4.30pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 8.00am to 4.00pm; Friday - 8.00am to 3.00pm

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007.  Accordingly the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.  If you wish further information on the PVG Scheme you can visit the Disclosure Scotland website at
