Vacancies have arisen for Home Care Support Workers within one of the largest services delivered by the council. Over 1,000 Home Carers provide essential support to over 2,300 service users to enable them to stay at home.
This post offers excellent opportunities at a time of considerable development within the service. As a Home Care Support Worker you will play a key role in the delivery of community services. You will be assist the Community Support Co-ordinator in scheduling of work by updating IT systems and issuing information to employees and service users as appropriate and other co-ordination tasks. You will assist the Community Support Co-ordinator in monitoring service downtime, providing support to ensure time is utilised appropriately and effectively. You will also provide practical, personal and specialised support to service users within their own homes.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support in providing a high quality home care service. You should have excellent IT skills and be dynamic and creative, with the ability to resolve problems as they arise.
Successful applicants will be required to be flexible in approach and to travel across various locations within South Lanarkshire. You will be required to working evening and weekends if required. This post is currently subject to job evaluation.
The successful candidate should hold a SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care or be willing to work towards gaining these qualifications and gain SSSC registration.

Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad..

The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal records check provided by Disclosure Scotland.
