A fulltime Substance Misuse Worker  vacancy has arisen  within the Multi-disciplinary Drug Treatment and Testing Team  (DTTO)  across South Lanarkshire, the main office is based in Hamilton with satellite base across Clydesdale area.
The DTTO Service undertakes DTTO assessment and management of Orders mandated by the Court. The DTTO Service is part of the Justice Service in South Lanarkshire Council and works closely with South Lanarkshire Integrated  Addiction and Recovery Services  as well as Court Services, Prison Throughcare, High Risk Offenders Teams, Local Justice Teams, Police and other partners in ensuring public protection.
The post holder will be expected to maintain the high standard of service already established to provide addiction counselling and case management interventions to individuals  subject to Drug Treatment and Testing Order imposed by the Court.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced  and motivated Substance Misuse Worker focusing upon working with hard to reach service users and providing a specialist service delivery .This will include duties of assessment, preparation of  treatment suitability reports,  facilitating appropriate interventions, providing information, care management and advocacy suitable to the needs of the service users. Liaison and joint working are key components of this position.
The successful candidate should hold Post Graduate Certificate in Addictions /Counselling  and willing to work towards a Diploma in Drug and Alcohol studies.
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
