Job Description

Well, what a challenge the last 2 years have been! , We have an amazing opportunity to recruit an HR Business Partner into our existing HR Business Partnering Team. This will build our capacity to create HR Policy, best practice guidance, and the HR processes and procedures which support transformational change and new ways of working within Stirling Council, while at the same time, keeping the HR day job going. So basically to gear up for round 3!!

As a team we ourselves are adapting to working in a Hybrid style, and though we have not figured out our long term balance, it’s likely we will be in the office up to 2/3 days a week depending on our customers, our Services, and also our own needs. So helping us develop our own future ways of working is something you could contribute to.

What we can also offer you is the chance to use your influence and skills to promote a ‘Think How’ approach; to get involved with all aspects of operational HR, and also have the opportunity to influence policy and process redesign. Also, and importantly, to support the existing HR team to enable our organisation and our people to build on existing good practice, and be able to introduce service deliver improvements which ultimately ensure better outcomes for our communities.

Our HR Business Partners have a key role in the co-ordination, communication and resolution of HR related matters in their Service areas. Working alongside them you will also have the chance to provide pro-active professional advice on employment related issues such as terms and conditions, attendance management, wellbeing, discipline and grievance in set Service areas.

You will work collaboratively with Senior Managers, employees, trade unions and other partners to maintain and develop strong and effective HR practice. You will also use HR analytic data to help Services and the organisation make informed decisions and put in place appropriate supports for our organisation, people and communities.

Central to success is working with the wider HR team, and with Services, to fully understand their Service goals, opportunities and challenges, and embrace the chance to review HR practice, and explore and influence ideas and ways of working. All to ensure the organisation is effectively supported and guided to achieve success through a period of significant organisational change.

Like your peers, you will also be provided opportunity to take forward Council wide HR Policy development, review, and HR related initiatives which support our organisation and all of our people to thrive.
