Operating within the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers – A Quality Assurance Framework, as an accredited provider, Stirling Council’s Advice Stirling Team promotes the financial inclusion of clients. Providing direct money, debt and benefits advice; giving people the knowledge, tools and confidence to be able to resolve matters themselves; or provide specialist advice and support to implement the advice; and make referrals to other complementary services when further help is required for additional support needs. The team:
- Work towards the alleviation of hardship and disadvantage by providing information, advice and assistance on money, debt and related issues;
- Promote the financial wellbeing of citizens in Stirling; and
- Contribute to the development of strategies and interventions to reduce financial exclusion in Stirling.
We are currently seeking a temporary Income Maximisation and Budgeting Adviser to work within our New Scots in Stirling Project – a collaboration between Advice Services, the Resettlement Team and the Learning and Employability Team; delivering full income maximisation, welfare benefits and budgeting advice to New Scots (refugees and asylum seekers).
This temporary post is currently funded until 31st August 2027.
The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.
