Job Description

The Legal Team is undergoing a period of rapid and exciting change. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious solicitor to support the Council to deliver its key objectives.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to make their mark and progress their career in a senior solicitor role. In addition to furthering their legal career, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their management skills and experience You will be the Council’s Lead Solicitor in relation to all information governance matters, providing legal support and practical legal advice to all services across the Council.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering responsive and customer focussed professional services, and help drive service change and modernisation. You will be supported by and report to the Chief Officer – Governance, who is the Council’s DPO, and the Legal Manager.

You will be directly supported in your role by an experienced Data Compliance Officer. You will be an effective communicator, team player and strategic thinker. Analytical skills and political awareness are essential, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services. Importantly, you will be a valued team member and an asset to our friendly Legal Team.
